The scope.
The project agreement called for removing the existing boards, inspecting the framing, making minor repairs as needed, and installing Trex Enhance Basics composite decking in Clam Shell, with hidden fasteners where applicable.
The scope was based on reusing the existing framing. Major structural deficiencies, if uncovered, required a separate written change order. That distinction matters on a resurfacing job: the condition underneath determines what can stay.
The finished space.
The completed deck has a consistent gray surface around the dining area. The photos show how the boards work with the surrounding house and the furniture already using the space.
This was a surface-replacement project. It is a useful reference for homeowners who like their current layout and want to understand what changing the decking can accomplish.
